Project Description:
The development saw the construction of a new Extra Care scheme comprising 66 one and two-bedroom apartments with associated communal facilities including; lounge, Nostalgia Room, indoor potting shed, hair salon, laundry and a café/bistro open to the local community.
There was a particular focus on the adoption of dementia friendly design: High ceilings, post office, nostalgia room, glazed kitchen units, a more open plan apartment layout and careful consideration to all aspects of the interior design.
The building was constructed traditionally with a mix of feature brick panels and render to the external walls, and a low pitch profiled aluminium roof and concealed gutters.
