Fixed-term Contract (6 Months)

About the Role:

Henry Riley’s Health & Safety team are seeking to hire an experienced Health & Safety Consultant to work in a fast-paced logistics environment for a global, blue-chip client.

This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months, and the successful candidate will be paid a competitive day rate and be based at our client’s site in Essex. Day to day you will be based on site 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. Some weekend works may be required.

This is an exciting opportunity for a HSC to join an established and professional team with the primary purpose of supporting and advising the project team. This will require a hands-on approach, excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with all stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Typical duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Recording and maintaining accurate daily and weekly metrics.
  • Reporting to onsite management teams using corporate reporting systems.
  • Supporting stakeholders and the project team with compliance and HS regulations.
  • Carrying out regular site walks throughout the day.
  • Completing risk assessments with attention to detail.
  • Carrying out toolbox talks
  • Attending and chairing various meetings with the stakeholders and the wider project team.
  • Advising and recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Essential Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • CSCS card

Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to use and learn our client’s reporting system. Previous experience of using Bolt would be advantageous
  • Previous experience of working as a Health & Safety Consultant / Health & Safety Advisor or similar is essential
  • Prior experience of working on industrial warehouse projects would be advantageous, but is not essential
  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to review risk assessments in a working environment and advise on reasonably practicable control measures.
  • Knowledge of RAMS
  • Offering recommendations and advice on site
